The fear of public speaking
The fear of public speaking can come to us in different stages of our lives: in a presentation for school or university, in a business meeting, in front of the camera or in many other situations in which we might feel insecure when speaking in front of others.
The specific symptoms of the fear of public speaking can be grouped in three categories: physical, verbal and non-verbal.
Physical symptoms can appear in our body in different ways: sweating (in the hands or elsewhere), increased heart rate and blood pressure, stiffness in the neck and higher back, mouth dryness…
Verbal symptoms include a tense voice, voice trembling and repetitions of verbal tics (Ehmm).
Non-verbal symptoms (body language) are produced by anxiety and can make us look rigid or produce repetitive movements in our hands or compulsive movements.
Public Speaking is not innate to us, but rather an ability that must be developed and practized constanty in order to increase our self-confidence. If you have ever been immersed in a situation where speaking in public made you feel stressed THIS IS YOUR COURSE.
From Spetember 2021: Monday, Tuesday or Thursday 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. You can join a group on the first Monday, Tuesday or Thursday of the month. Contact us (email@example.com) to reserve your spot or continue reading to register below.
